The International Hair Freezing Contest
Another contest I haven't heard from. People from all over the world travel to Yukon (Canada), to the Takhini Hot Pools to join the contest.
Bald people are welcome (a wig is allowed).
On their website you can find a 'manual'. It's running all winter (mostly in Feburary).
This is last year winner: Nanae
I say ... go for it!

I Could Live Here
A cosy eco-friendly residence in Montreal. Looks surprisingly cosy and comfy.
"Ecologia Montreal, designed by the team at Gervais Fortin. This modern dwelling is aiming for a Platinum LEED certification. The Montreal, Canada based home was built with sustainable design in mind, but without sacrificing contemporary design."

Inhabitants Of Vancouver’s Sketchy East Side Photographed By Claire Martin
"Tony lives in the Downtown Eastsidein the same building as his brother and sister in law. They have all been addicted to heroin for around 25 years. Tony lost his wife to AIDS 5 year ago. They had twin daughters who were born HIV positive and were taken away by the state immediately after birth. Tony is on the Methodone program, but continues to use heroin."
"Claire Martin began her career by pursuing a degree in Social Work, however, she changed her focus to Photography when she realized that change can also be effected through this medium. Her ongoing documentation of marginalised communities within prosperous nations won her the Magnum Foundation 2010 Inge Morath award for Female Photographers under 30 years of age."

Serious Interview With Kermit
"This is not a parody trailer. It’s not a funny clip from The Muppets. It’s just Canadian talk show host George Stroumboulopoulos (just call him Strombo) interviewing Kermit the Frog like he was any other 50 year veteran of star and screen with his first imminent movie appearance in more than a decade. Go to 1:45 to skip the intro, and then enjoy."
