The International Hair Freezing Contest

Another contest I haven't heard from. People from all over the world travel to Yukon (Canada), to the Takhini Hot Pools to join the contest.

Bald people are welcome (a wig is allowed).

On their website you can find a 'manual'. It's running all winter (mostly in Feburary).

How do I participate?

1. Participants pay for an admission into the hot springs and then wet, mold, and freeze their hair.

2. Participants take a photo or get our staff to take their photo.

3. All participants must fill in and sign our form at the front desk.

4. All photos MUST be high resolution to be considered for the contest.

5. All Hair must be covered in frost to be considered frozen, half frozen hair will not be considered. Frozen hair should be predominantly white. Please see previous winners' photos on our website and Facebook page for valid comparisons.

TED, the non profit organization behind the TED Conference and TED Talks, launched Ads Worth Spreading to recognize the best in brand creativity and to raise the standards for advertising online and beyond.

A panel of 24 judges that included ad agency creatives, entrepreneurs, producers, filmmakers and journalists* selected ten overall winners and 14 honorable mentions. Overall, the winning entries tended to carry a broader social message or represent a beyond-spot approach or format.
