Before we had sustainability and now the 'Diversity and Inclusion' as a topic within almost all big corporates.
I'm from Holland, Amsterdam. Single mother, half Indonesian, 'old' and doesn't fit the mediocre. I had to smile when all this started. "Probably needed in the US" I thought, but not here in Europe. I have to admit, I was mistaken.
I was reading this article in the Mary Sue just now: Where Are the Women in the Gaming Industry?. I hope my audience will think that it's an 'open door', but as said in the article:
"Well, perhaps you should look into the larger reasons that women aren’t applying, rather than assuming it is because women just don’t want to be part of the fun. Have you considered that for a lot of women gaming has not always been fun, even if they love it?"
My daughter is a gamer, she's rather plays solo and if she's playing in an online team she never says something. She once did and all the guys made smart remarks. Good luck with trying to educate the male population worldwide.

Relaxed vs Posed on Instagram
I hope every woman if every age is reading this post and checking it on Instagram. It's a series of side-by-side shots showing an ideal pose (lighting, make-up, angle et cetera) and a relaxed pose. I checked them out and I feel better already :). (as you can see on my facebook, I'm terrible in taking selfies, I even got some remarks that I had to stop posting weird photo's of myself)

100 Days of Feminist Ads
Eileen Matthews, an LA-based freelance copywriter spends 100 days coming up with clever feminist taglines for big-name brands. Compliments. It looks simple but isn't.

Oscar Mayer presents a new ham can created and designed for women
Okay ... Oscar Mayer lost me. A new ham can created and designed for women.
- rolled edges
- easier opening
- bright easy roll key
Women hurt themselves? Women can't open the old ham cans because they're to weak? Women are half blind?
It was produced around 1960. Buying this made women (white middle-class ones) better homemakers, better women, and better Americans.

'A Day Without A Woman'
This is a very good initiative. Very direct. Promoting women to strike on International Women's Day.
Here's what a day without a woman looks like.

Nike Pro Hijab for female muslim athletes
Very smart from Nike, size+ models and a Nike Pro Hijab. But I'm glad they do. 'Just do it' that's my philosophy. People are always talking about issues but doing it, living by it is a different story. An issue by itself.
And 'What whill they say about you', in general? Who cares.

Shameful comments about women by politicians
Yeah, and you probably thought Trump was the only one.
Artists Zoë Buckman and Natalie Frank collected these quotes and put them on a 30 foot long wall for all to see. They named it 'We Hold These Truths To Be Self-Evident'. Shame on them.
They took the title from Elizabeth Cady Stanton's "Declaration of Sentiments and Resolutions," delivered in 1848 at the first women's rights convention in Seneca Falls, New York.

Women working full-time - part-time, it's never okay
According to a recent study dutch women work part-time, even if they don't have kids.
So what!
Live and let live.
There are women who work less by own choice and take less salary for granted.
There are women who work freelance.
There are women who want to be a stay home mother (which is a job also).
There are women who want to get married and stay home.
I am a single mother. From I guess age 15 I work. Until I got my daughter I worked 5 days a week. After I got my daughter I worked for a couple of years 4 day a week, than 4,5 days a week or 5 days a week. Do I want this? No I have to. We need the money.
On one hand women who work part-time by own choice get a lot of criticism: they are lazy, they are spoiled.
On the other hand I have to defend myself constantly because I work full-time: I pity your daughter, you're never available for her.

So True
A Pantene commercial from the Philippines. By the way it's weird to see Western looking Philippine people. But I digress. Most of the times I don't like commercials by beauty products, cleaning products et cetera. This commercial surprised me. An attempt to put some kind of social statement. The difference between business women and business men.
I've worked my whole life in different kind of jobs. When I was younger I used to state that women themselves created the difference between men and women on the workfloor. How wrong was I. This is very recognizable.
I was once working in a company with mostly men (about 50 employees). There were 4 women working there. One inside sale (always crying, most of the time absent), one HR, one at the reception and me, a very direct, independent person. The owner called me in for a talk one day. He told me that a couple of men on the workfloor said I was too bossy. Is it too bossy to tell someone what the client wants, so they have to do it again? I replied: "If I was Sylvano Knaap, would I be bossy too?". He answered: "No, you would be decisive, but it is the way it is". And this is just one example. For me the combination of this social issue and shampoo is a bit too forced. But perhaps I have to get used to it.

Real Beauty Sketches
Scary shit. Unfortunately true. Every woman must watch this video, especially teenage girls. Only 4% of women around the world consider themselves beautiful.

Jay Herrod Knows A Lot About Women
Jay Herrod is running for President in 2012. OMG
#7 Not all women are dumb and stupid.
#8 Women are as smart as men.
And I know the answer on his last question: no, Jay, not because of men, just because they like to feel good.
