Who would have expected a link between petanque and kissing Fanny

I didn't. But there is. And it's a very nice story you can read here.

"Fanny was a waitress at a local café in the Savoie region or Lyon– no one seems to agree. Watching the men playing pétanque (or boules) one day, she declared that she would allow any man who lost 13-0 in pétanque, to kiss her on the cheek.

As it happened, it the mayor of the local village was the one to embarrassingly not obtain a single point during his game. Fanny wasn’t fond of the mayor because of an earlier discretion. A woman’s scorn? Instead of offering her cheek, she offered quite a different cheek indeed." ...

Who is going to save this beautiful Chateau?

Chateau du Duc d'Epernon lies 27 miles outside of Paris and needs to be saved. And I agree. It must have been beautiful in the past.

Art For Everyone

Nice one! I like! Very uneconomic, but hey ... a simple solution for art for the masses. Just replace public ad spaces with art. It looks good.

Hipsters In The Louvre

Cool project. Love it!

The famous statues at the Louvre in Paris recently got a stylish, sartorial makeover… hip new threads to go with their relaxed, modelesque demeanors. French photographer Léo Caillard teamed up with digital mastermind Alexis Persani to digitally rework the marble figures, bringing them into the modern era with plaid shirts, skinny jeans, boat shoes and, of course, Ray-Bans!

I Could Stay Here

WTF! ... I could live here!!!!!

"Tucked into a tiny, quiet street at the summit of Paris Montmartre is a retro-future hotel that defies the classical clichés of Paris, fitting rather into a Jacques Tati vision of modernity. Kube Hotel combines a resolutely geometric sense of architecture, as its name suggests, with a 1960s sci-fi theme in its furnishings and décor, producing a feast for the eyes and senses."
