Brain Sneeze

 [Scroll down for English]

I often visit concerts, artists, theatre that I don't know. Sometimes it's bad, often hilarious, sometimes I leave in the break (when there is one). I don't regret visiting them. It's brain food.

Ergo: Why do people always look up things they know? For me it makes more sense to look up things I don't know. But hey, who am I?!

You owe it to yourself … To stop, right now

Very true. By Alex Mathers.

You owe it to yourself…
To stop, right now.
To get off the phone for a second.
To drop thought.
To pay attention to sensation.
It might not be your heart, but it is a feeling. It is there.
Are you aware of it?
Can you feel that?

It might take a while to unfold the layers, but you will find it.
You may have lost it, but it can be recovered.
To sense what matters to you.
But you’re still doing those things which do not.
These things that cloud the spirit.

Life is short. Every moment is significant.
Let’s quit wasting it.
Answer those important questions.
What is vital to you?
What will you bring into existence?
For whom does it matter the most?
Be specific.
But aim big.
Now go gargantuan.

And then let go of planning. Just move.
Your spirit will respond to movement.
Apply relentless force with time to breathe.
Show the doubt that it was unfounded.
Now you return more frequently to your flow.
With patience and intensity, that thing will become more defined.
They that matter will begin to respond.
And you will be glad you paid attention.

Stop lying to yourself

So true.

Lying doesn't make any sense anyway, but lying to ourselves is being our own worst enemy. And admit it, we all do it.

What is your 'capture'?

A very interesting and clear animation: 'Are All Mental Illnesses Related?'.

"David Kessler, the former Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, argues that all mental health issues, including addiction, depression, and overeating, can be explained by “capture”—a process where focusing on selective stimuli results in adverse behaviors. In opposition to current research, Kessler argues against the notion of chemical imbalances and offers capture as a common mechanism which accounts for all forms of mental illness."

Are You A Visual Thinker? Are You?

If you are, than you might be the next genius inventor of our time. For the people who are interested ... yes, I am a visual thinker.

Oh I like the part of the messy or organized space. After I organized everything in my house (happens tops once a year) I can't find anything anymore.

A Long ... Long ... Time Ago ...

Believe it or not but a long long time ago I was in a shell too. Painfully shy. As Frank Ze says sometimes it's necessary. Perhaps. But perhaps it will never disappear. You find a way to deal with it. My shyness was (is) a combination between very low self esteem and not understanding 'others'. I walked around constantly asking myself 'WTF am I doing here'? The moment I realized that I couldn't go on like that, I think I was about 13 or 14, I thought by myself: Okay I'm never ever going to be a model, so I need to be smart and funny. I started reading ... a lot. Up will now I have a ridiculous huge level of curiosity. Curiosity killed the cat? Perhaps.
