A very interesting and clear animation: 'Are All Mental Illnesses Related?'.
"David Kessler, the former Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, argues that all mental health issues, including addiction, depression, and overeating, can be explained by “capture”—a process where focusing on selective stimuli results in adverse behaviors. In opposition to current research, Kessler argues against the notion of chemical imbalances and offers capture as a common mechanism which accounts for all forms of mental illness."

Is Social Media Social?
This is a very difficult question. I think it depends how you use it. I agree with this short film 'Look Up'. A lot of people with loads of friends are probably very lonely. And communicating on social media or WhatsApp or whatever is always lame. No facial expression, no body language, no eyes. And yes it's difficult to NOT get addicted to you laptop, mobile phone. But on the other hand, it's a good way to stay in touch with people you know who don't live in the same city. It's nice to get to know new people. It's a good tool to market yourself. In short, the answer, always evaluate how you're using it.

Addictions
Addictions - directed by Giovanni Bucci.
"This video is about addictions, mainly to technology, but it's open to various interpretations.
Years ago the idea behind technology was to give people more free time from work and give us a better life. So nowadays, with the possibility for the majority of people to have access to electronics and hi tech, is it true that we have more spare time and a better quality of life? Or have we become addicted to the technology that surrounds us everyday and it has suck us into it? But humans get addicted really easily to a lot of things in life and this video is also a metaphor about addictions in general, about being manipulated without even realizing it or without reacting."
