It starts off as some sort of siren and than ... yes, and than??!! Get out of Dodge!

But it is smart. I've noticed that people driving electric cars don't realize they don't make any sound. When you're on your bike you listen. I've always taught my daughter to listen, if you hear a tram, a car, a motorcycle ... check it, and be careful. It happened to me already a couple of times that the very hip and trendy Tesla just drove out of their parking spot ... while I was passing. It helps when electric means of transport make a sound.

Gesture Recognition With Contact-Microphones

Wow! Mogees - Gesture recognition with contact-microphones.

"In this video we show how it is possible to perform gesture recognition just with contact microphones and transform every surface into an interactive board. Through gesture recognition techniques we detect different kind of fingers-touch and associate them with different sounds. In the video we used two different audio synthesis techniques:
1- physic modelling, which consists in generating the sound by simulating physical laws;
2- concatenative synthesis (audio mosaicing), in which the sound of the contact microphone is associated with its closest frame present in a sound database.
The system can recognise both fingers-touches and objects that emit a sound, such as the coin shown in the video."
