Amir Eid - Music From Tahrir Square
As the anti-government demonstrations in Egypt stretch into their 18th day, singer Amir Eid has placed an anthem for them on YouTube, filmed in part at epicenter Tahrir Square. Its refrain sums up the mood: 'I’m Not Turning Around.'

"On February 1st, British filmmaker Oliver Wilkins decided to head out into Tahrir Square, Cairo to document the protests. Based in Cairo for the past 12 years, he says that he has a "great love of Egypt and the Egyptians." That being said, he tries to stay clear of Egyptian politics. What has been happening in Tahrir, however, is so "totally unprecedented," that he felt compelled to shoot these scenes.
"It’s amazing to see people making signs from anything lying around them in an attempt to get their voices heard," Wilkins says."

Egyptian's Internet Crackdown With Help Of UK & US Companies
"In Egypt this week, the Mubarak regime shut down Internet and cell phone communications before launching a violent crackdown against political protesters (watch Free Press' Timothy Karr discuss the use of technology in Egypt in the video below).
Now, Free Press has discovered that an American company — Boeing-owned Narus of Sunnyvale, CA — has sold Egypt "Deep Packet Inspection" (DPI) equipment that can be used to help the regime track, target and crush political dissent over the Internet and mobile phones."
