50 Years Ago Today: March On Washington
August 28th., 1963, the March On Washington DC. It's 50 years ago when Martin Luther King gave his 'I Have A Dream' speech. And how far did we get since 1963. Take a look at the comments below the video.
For example:
"William Mcintosh 2 minutes ago
I have a dream too. A dream where all the darkies are put on ships back to Africa. A dream where I walk out my front door and all I can see are my fellow whiteys as far as the eye can see. Where the crack dealers and gang members don't drive down my property value. I have a dream."

Procatinator
Procatinator is a fun website. It combines an image from a cat with a song. My first one was a cat with salad on its head and the song 'The lonely shepherd' by Georg Zamfir. Very good combination.
Why Do We Get Bored?
Good question ... Why do we get bored? Everything can become 'boring'. Everything that repeats itself. Playing Russian roulette over and over again, and survive? Boring. Travel the whole world by private jet for a year? Boring. I understand this. I suffer from this. But when I look around me, here in the Netherlands, or better, here in Amstelfuckingveen, people love boring lives. Having dinner at 18.00. Going to the supermarket on Thursday nights or Saturday mornings. Having visitors over on Sunday. That would be a better question, Why Do People Love Boring Lives?

Oh ... It's So Frustrating
It's frustrating ... it's annoying ... it's a waste of time ... Is it? This Samsung commercial is hilarious. One question though, just to be sure, it's a parody ... is it? ...

Ode To The Tin Can
An ode to everyday inventions ... this time the tin can. Never take a tin can for granted. Photo series by Erik Wåhlström and Daniel Carlsten.
"The patent for the tin can was first granted to British merchant Peter Durand 203 years ago on this day in 1810. Unfortunately, the can opener was not patented until 35 years later, so the contents were initially only accessible by use of a hammer and chisel or other such lumpen implements—and back then, the container was sealed with lead, which risked poisoning the food within."

Patti Smith Gives Advice To The Young
The Young can't get enough good advice. I have to let my 15y old daughter listen to this one, allthough she has heard it a zillion times already. Grab every chance that's given to you ... don't sit on the couch and wait for something to happen ... follow your dream ... use your own brain ... be open-minded ... et cetera ... et cetera ... "yeah mum, you said that before, I know" ... *sigh*

Location Specific Graffiti
Today on Vandalog photo's of the abandoned Atlanta Prison Farm. Very nice. Just realizing that I look different at the graffiti because it was a prison. It even doesn't matter if the graffiti has been put up after closure. Location specific graffiti.

Steve Ballmer is going to step back within the next year. A good reason to publish Steve-Ballmer-moments. I picked this one. Am I going to miss this guy? I don't think so.

Untranslatable Words From Other Cultures
The idea that words cannot always say everything has been written about extensively - as Friedrich Nietzsche said,
“Words are but symbols for the relations of things to one another and to us; nowhere do they touch upon the absolute truth."
