60 Years of Logos: Chermayeff & Geismar
"60 years ago Ivan Chermayeff and Tom Geismar joined forces and the world of design has never been the same. Their company Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv has designed some of the most enduring and defining logos of the modern age. We honor their collaboration with this video, which includes, sadly, the last interview with Ivan before his passing."

The rebranding of sex toys [NSFW]
Remember the 'facial massage' ads?
Designer Jenna Josepher and photographer Jesse Untracht-Oakner do a better job.
C'mon people, this is reality, why the taboo, why the shame?! Sex isn't only about having children (which for a lot of people is cool). It's also about having fun, for which a lot of people are ashamed. We live in a weird world.
SFW is an art experiment that features GIFs of sex toys that have been desexualized.
“The cause” being to cast sex toys in a less skeevy light. Or, as SFW‘s writer Leah Dworkin more eloquently puts it in their mission statement:
"Sex-toy imagery is often suggestive, triggering, and discriminatory, not to mention, advertisements for sexual products can easily make certain viewers feel uncomfortable, unwelcome, judged or excluded. Even though this is how the sex-toy industry has marketed itself in the past, we thought it was time for a change. We not only felt a real responsibility but saw an exciting opportunity to create a new breed of visual imagery within the sex-toy marketplace that was progressive, inclusive, positive, socially conscious and approachable–to all sorts of human beings."

The furniture? No thanks. The sketches? Yes please! - Seletti & Studio Job for BLOW
For the Milan Design Week 2017, Italian design brand Seletti and the creative duo from Studio Job will launch their latest design collection ‘BLOW’ and ‘UN_LIMITED EDITIONS’. This crossover between art and design will include household and decorative items.
I'm not so much interested in the end product. But the sketches I love!

Why does this article about the McDonald's straw annoys me? [UPDATE]
I thought so, it was a marketing stunt, a bit early but perhaps better.
More info over here
OMG McDonald's has employed a team of aerospace and robotic engineers to reinvent the slurping experience for optimum milkshake consumption. Is it April Fool's? What's next?!

The hi-fi collection by Ballfinger
These designs by Roland Schneider / Ballfinger are beautiful. The tape recorder reminds me of the one from Sony I had way back. Minimalistic. I'm curious about the sound.

Vintage Wallpaper Hunting
That was the profession of Suzanne Lipschutz, vintage wallpaper hunter. She started in the 1960s and did it for over 50 years. She had a shop (Secondhand Rose) and celebs as clients. Her wallpapers were also used in movies and tv series. She donated a big part of her collection to the Cooper-Hewitt design museum.

Architecture For Dogs
What happens when you ask a group of architects and designers to create shelters for dogs? Voila! Japanese curator and architect Kenya Hara started this project - Architecture For Dogs. I love the shelter from wood.
