What happens when your phone gets stolen

A short movie by Anthony van der Meer.

"After my phone got stolen, I quickly realized just how much of my personal information and data the thief had instantly obtained. So, I let another phone get stolen. This time my phone was pre-programmed with spyware so I could keep tabs on the thief in order to get to know him. However, to what extent is it possible to truly get to know someone by going through the content of their phone?"

Car Wash Incident

This is a 6 min excerpt. I have to see the whole video installation. Intriguing.

"Car Wash Incident" by Jack+Leigh Ruby, former con artists who have re-conceptualized their original fabricated insurance scam "evidence" as multimedia art, after over a decade in prison.

Everything including the people are doubled.
What appears as 4 characters engaged in an intrigue driving around the lot of a car wash is actually
8 characters on a set with two of everything:
people, street corners, cars, signs, trash cans, tufts of grass, fire hydrants, etc have all been doubled, expanding the narrative possibilities of a simple task: the delivery of a plastic bag.
The actors improvised dialogues of contradictory story lines as they performed the circular event.

Russian Criminal Tattoo Archive

A very interesting archive on Fuel.

"This unique archive documents Russian criminals' tattoos and their coded meanings. Included in the collection are more than three thousand tattoo drawings made by Danzig Baldaev during his time as a prison guard between 1948 and 1986. Tattoos were his gateway into a secret world in which he acted as ethnographer, recording the rituals of a closed society. The icons and tribal languages he documented are artful, distasteful, sexually explicit and provocative, reflecting as they do the lives and traditions of convicts."
