The Beauty Of Imperfection

Very nice collection of imperfect beauty. The total opposite of for example fashion photography nowadays. I love it. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Zippo Lighters From The Vietnam War

Quite a collection.

"Through the blog of bag label Jack Spade we've come across these ingeniously customised Vietnam-era Zippo lighters previously belonging to soldiers of the US Army. Each of the lighters have been specially engraved, reflecting the particular emotions of their respective owners at the time and adding a human element to the war we now learn about in history lessons. The collection belongs to Bradford Edwards, who decided to auction off 282 of the best at the Cowan's Auctions in Cincinnati for $35,000 (approx. £22,300).
You can take a look at more of the collection through Cowan Auctions."

The Dumpster Project

Mac Premo, collage artist.

"1. I have archived much of my life through collected objects.

2. I am moving to a smaller studio, making it necessary that I get rid of a lot of these objects.

3. I will do so by using them as the raw material for one enormous collage you can literally walk inside of, created inside a 30-yard dumpster.

4. Oh, before I build that thing, I am going to catalogue around 500 of these objects by photographing them and recording a few words about its history."
