I'm scared

No this is not a personal post. Ofcourse I'm scared. I'm scared of / for a lot of things. No this is a very sweet short stop motion based on the work of Greg 'Craola' Simkins. Directed by Pete Levin. They say it took him 3 years! Well worth it.

Maria Romero - Dulce De Reliquias

Alexander McQueen Designer Sarah Burton’s Latest Prodigy Animates Her Graduate Collection.

The ethereal fabrics and designs of Maria Romero’s graduate fashion collection shimmer on the handmade dolls modeling them in her stop-motion short. Directed by Romero and produced in collaboration with fellow students at the San Francisco Academy of Art University in lieu of a traditional runway show, the film came from a conversation with the fashion school’s Director, Simon Ungless. “There was a doll’s body lying on the table,” Ungless recalls. “It was probably 12 inches tall and Maria was draping the body with fabrics and mini-garments she had made. I said, ‘why turn them into real clothes when you could do something new?’” The film was inspired by “dulces de reliquias,” Mexican candies handed out at Christmas during nativity plays.

Epic Stop Motion Jonny Quest

"In 1964, Jonny Quest aired to rave reviews as the first, adult action/adventure cartoon in prime time. It had cool jazz music by Hoyt Curtin and terrific, high contrast pen and ink design work by Doug Wildey. As an animator and long time JQ junkie, I had always wanted a set of Jonny Quest action figures but, due to high production costs, the show only lasted one season; not long enough to spawn any kind of serious toys or other merchandising tie-ins. So, almost 50 years later, I made my own. Here is my Valentine to one of the coolest, if not THE coolest, cartoons ever to spin up the imagination of a 53 year old man now going on six. Enjoy!"
