KOO KOO - illustrator

My daughter showed me this illustrator on Instagram: KOO KOO. And he's very good!

The reason she showed me was because he did an illustration of her, because it was his birthday. He picked 10 followers and she was one of them. Nomally she never tells me anything only when she's very sad, furious or happy about something. I have a very healthy daughter.

Chef wears the MENU on his face

Creepy portraits by Robbie Postma (chef of the JWT Amsterdam cafetaria) & Robert Harrison.

As they explain themselves:
"With this series we want to take the viewer to the origin of a menu. Not serving a beautiful dish on a plate. But raw, unprocessed ingredients. Served, the closest you can get to a chef’s mind, on his face."

Before ... And After

Too beautiful to be shocking. Not easy to look at. Respect!

“At least she lived”
Photographer Walter Schels was terrified of death, so much so he refused to see his mother after she passed away. Upon entering his 70s, Schels finally decided to overcome his fear through a bold, bizarre project – photographing individuals before and directly after their death.

Julian Wolkenstein - Echoism

""Echoism" plays with the notion of your own identity. What do you look like? What are the things that make you look like you - your identifying features? If you are made symmetrical, do you consider yourself more beautiful, less so, or is it just weird? Or is it you at all? Do you have a best side? What is to be said of left and right brain dominance?"

"The process is a face-to-camera portrait, the image is split into a left and a right section, then one side is horizontally flipped.
These images are recombined to create two separate and symmetrical identities of the subject.
Feel free to upload your image more than once, as it is a web cam or iphone thing it has a sense of immediacy, a moment captured - so perhaps you feel one way in front of a webcam taping away on work, and another way out at night in a bar with an iphone."

Juan Osborne

"You know the tired cliche about a picture being worth a thousand words? Well Spanish architect and designer Juan Osborne has taken this phrase quite literally, creating works of art using words and feeding them into a custom computer program he developed which can process hundreds of thousands of words into complex images of people and places."

South Africa - Bicycle Portraits

"Myself, Stan Engelbrecht and a good friend and fellow bicycle enthusiast, Nic Grobler recently started a project investigating South African bicycle culture, and the lack of cyclist commuters out there on our roads. We are currently raising funds to turn this project into a self-published full-color hard-cover photographic book. We are shooting the entire project from our own bicycles while traveling around the country - we are meeting everyday South Africans out there while they use their bicycles."
