"NBC doesn’t like to look ignorant, even if it’s totally understandable. By now many of us have seen the 1994 “Today” show video where Katie Couric and Bryant Gumbel ask what the “internet” is. Even though the video is 17 years old, NBC didn’t see the humor, and reportedly fired the employee who uploaded it. They also pulled many of the videos off the net.
