Theo van Gogh
Theo van Gogh, killed 5 years ago, on the streets in Amsterdam, just brought his son to school.
I went to work that day and went through the neighbourhood where it happened. A lot of fast driving police cars, police on motorbikes. I arrived at work and heard he was killed, like a pig, a letter pinned in his chest with a knife afterwards.
Panic, my first thoughts were, this is impossible, something like this doesn't happen in Amsterdam. Well, guess what, it did.
I still miss him, thinking about him reading articles about Geert Wilders. What would he have done / said.
I'm always afraid that when he sees society right now he would turn in his grave instead of resting in peace.
