"australian photographer polly borland presents a selection of photographs from her most recent series 'smudge' at other criteria in london. the set of images depicts a combination of exuberant playfulness and dark, masqueraded sexuality with a touch of furry fandom. borland directs her anonymous models according to her own distinct visual language, often dressing them in costumes that disguise full identities, hiding gender and age, resulting in a visual ambiguity of the end subjects."
