Volvo Air Motion

"The Volvo Air Motion is a lightweight air driven car concept by Volvo that was created for the LA auto show 1000 pound car design challenge. Weighing only 902 pounds, the air motion concept is designed like a clam shell and made from strong
yet light carbon fiber. Compressed air motors drive the car, which has an open top and side vents. Volvo’s design team stripped the car of many components in a regular production model to take down the weight. Users would drive to air replenishment sites to refill the built-in air tank. These stations would take air from air turbines that harness wind power for energy to compress the air. Plus, since the compressed air tank in the car gets cooler under work, the car doesn’t
need air conditioning."
