Unisex fashion of the Seventies

I was talking about unisex fashion with a friend this week. In The Netherlands, on Sundays, you will often see middle aged couples on bicycles wearing the same overcoats. Often with 2 contrasting colors, yellow, red, blue, green.

I never understood the psychology behind unisex fashion. Is it tribal? Is it money (discount)?

I can't stop looking at the hair styles.
