The Door To Hell

The door to hell is in Turkmenistan. While drilling in 1971, geologists in Derweze hit a methane gas pocket. Instead of letting the gas into the atmosphere, they decided to burn it off. Forty years later, this two hundred-thirty foot crater is still on fire.
