Uhm ... Rectangular Cheese

The design beats the traditional dutch cheese slicer. But does it only works with rectangular cheese? Wouldn't work in the Netherlands.

This Makes Me Curious About Weddings In Russia

Do You Want To Quit School? Think Again!

Hey youngsters out there. Do you want to quit school? Are you thinking WTF am I doing here? They don't teach me anything? Out there in the real world life will teach me everything I need to know? I want to travel instead of sitting in a stuffy classroom. Well ... watch this ... think again.

*I don't see the functionality of the video with the text stay at school, set yourself free. But I will do anything to keep kids at school. Why? If you can't beat them, join them ... to beat them.*

Embroidered Photographs

Beautiful! A collection of embroidered photographs. Original and re-invented. I love them all but have a weak spot for Maurizio Anzeri with his geometrical forms.

Ooooh ... It's A Nervous Reflex

What? The eyes or the tongue?

Miley Cyrus as a 2y old interupting her father at a talk show.

Why Do I Think This Is Annoying?

Just thinking out loud to find the answer on the question "Why do I find this commercial annoying?"

I don't get the link between Axe and Peace.
I think it's emotional blackmail, subject is peace, references are well known situations.
I find it easy. It's just the commercial. For the rest they don't do anything social responsable.

But hey ... who am I to judge.

The Beauty Of Imperfection

Very nice collection of imperfect beauty. The total opposite of for example fashion photography nowadays. I love it. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

The Prodigy's 'Firestarter' Without Music

A musicless musicvideo, The Prodigy's 'Firestarter' by Mario Wienerroither. Creepy!

Google Music

Google launched Music Timeline ... Discover the history of music. Looks good. Click on an album to buy on Google Play. Well done Google! I like the look and feel. Am I going to use it? I don't think so.

N+1 - An Animation Explaning Infinity

This time a TED animation. David Hilbert's infinity explained by Jeff Dekofsky for TED-Ed.

Dutch Paintings Re-Invented

This is a definite WANT! Wish I had money. NY artist Michael Mapes re-invents dutch paintings ... with ... uhm ... things. This is his explanation:

"The samples are part of my most recent series of work examining Dutch Master Portraiture. In this work, I deconstruct the original subject, in both a figurative and literal sense by dissecting photos of a painting and considering ways in which the parts might serve to inspire new parts within the reconstruction to suggest unique and complex meanings. I’ve done these works with the use of a visual metaphor suggesting a pseudoscientific method specifically working with materials and processes signifying entomological, biological and forensic science."

Even better than the real thing.

Sex Talk!

A bit slower and we can use it to educate our kids. No ... I'm not kidding. Sexual education in 6 min.

Shock Effect

Shock effect to promote a film. Does it work? The first and most recent one to promote the horror movie Devil’s Due ... Right in your face! The second one is a bit older to promote Carrie ... A bit nicer.

But does it work? The only positive effects I can see is the amount of YouTube viewers. And a couple of almost heart attacks. Do they have to ask permission of the 'victims'? I guess so. Well at least they have their one minute of fame.

Alessandro Pautasso

I never had a weak spot for Alessandro Pautasso's well-known work. It's good but for me it missed the je ne sais quoi. Up till now. His work for the Milan Bicycle Film Festival and for Greenpeace ... awesome!

All The Same ...

I like ... I like very much. The new video for Stromae's 'Tous Les Memes'.

There Are Always Benefits ...

How Do YOU Define Yourself by "The Worlds Ugliest Woman", Lizzie Velasquez. Strong woman. Talk for TEDxWoman.

"In a time when beauty is defined by supermodels, success is defined by wealth, and fame is deified by how many followers you have on social media, Lizzie Velasquez asks the question how do you define yourself? Once labeled, "The Worlds Ugliest Woman," Lizzie decided to turn things around and create her own definitions of what she defines as beauty and happiness."

Lost In The Trees

Don't know yet. Have to hear the whole album by Lost In The Trees 'Past Life', here the song with the same title. Haunting.

... And What Do You Think

Probably you've heard about the photo Madonna posted on Instagram. The photo of her 13y old son Rocco Ritchie (and friends) holding a bottle of booze. I had to smile reading somewhere that Rocco had said that Madonna was a very strict mother. Girls just wanna have fun ... oops, that was someone else.
I don't know. I can imagine it was just fun, Rocco isn't drinking. But on the other hand it's her public Instagram profile. Celebrity ... giving a good example ... et cetera ... et cetera.

The party has just begun!
