Falling Domino's Music Video

Very cool music video for A-Trak & Tommy Trash's 'Tuna Melt'.

RHex The Parkour Robot

A technology wonder but be honest, RHex looks funny and a bit clumsy.

RHex is short for 'robot hexapod'. It's an all-terrain walking robot that could one day climb over rubble in a rescue mission or cross the desert with environmental sensors strapped to its back.

Failure Unlocks Creativity

Nice speech by Dan Wieden, talking about the fact that failure unlocks creativity and small is beautiful.

"Dan Wieden co-founded Wieden & Kennedy in Portland, Ore., on April Fool's Day in 1982 -- and the agency has grown to comprise eight offices across four continents. But oh how he wishes he were small again, he told attendees at the fourth annual Ad Age Small Agency Conference, which was held last week in his hometown. Speaking just days ahead of the biggest merger adland has ever seen, Mr. Wieden presciently remarked that the ad giants are "wobbling like drunkards" and called for indie shops to sharpen their swords."

From Beauty To Scars

I prefer the scars.

"Photographer David Jay has documented lots of conventional beauty in his work for major fashion houses and magazines. He’s also helped the world reconsider what “beauty” means with “The Scar Project“, a groundbreaking portrait series that captured young breast cancer survivors going forward with their lives.

Now Jay is tackling perhaps an even greater challenge with “The Unknown Soldier,” a powerful new portrait project that captures the post-combat lives of young soldiers seriously injured in Iraq and Afghanistan."

It's A German Thing

This happens when you have money and have a German thing. Yes you're going to restore the Porsche 911T from 1971, like John Willhoit has done.

Why People Believe Weird Things

Ooooooh, so that's why I believe weird things. That explains a lot. And is funny on top of it.

I Could Live Here

I definitely could live in Palo Alto and I definitely could live in this house, wherever it would be.

I Can't Stop Smiling

Looking at the work of Franz Xaver Messerschmidt I simply cannot stop smiling. Wonderful!

"Franz Xaver Messerschmidt (February 6, 1736 – August 19, 1783) was a German-Austrian sculptor most famous for his “character heads”, a collection of busts with faces contorted in extreme facial expressions. He was expelled from his university position for being an oddball. Some say he suffered from “brain rot” and Chrohn’s disease which made him contort himself into severe positions for his many self portraits. Boring these are not."

Messing Around With The GoPro Hero 3

Not bad, the GoPro.

"Got our hands on a GoPro Hero 3 and ran into Daewon and Haslam who were messing around having fun on the mini ramp. This is some of the clip filmed with the camera, sort of get to, no handles not really having any idea of what was in frame! hahaha Hope you enjoy this fun edit!

Cord Coat Rack

Absolutely a very good idea, hanging cords as coat racks. I want! And not for traveling.

"Depending on how you like to travel, it can sometimes be difficult to find all the wardrobe space necessary to store your clothes. That’s why designers Veronika Wildgruber and Susanne Stofer have created a portable wardrobe that consists of a single rope."

Naughty Soviets

Naughty naughty. Sculptor, death masks and erotic arts.

Famed Soviet sculptor Sergey Merkurov, best known for his towering monuments honoring leaders like Stalin and the death masks he created (the faces of Leo Tolstoy and Maxim Gorky included), dabbled in the erotic arts. The former director of the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts made an A to Z picture book of people having sex in impossible positions.

Top Pop Yeah!

Meco "Star Wars Title Theme" visualized on Top Pop (The Netherlands) by Penney de Jager, 1977. Typical. Whenever there was a hit and the band couldn't come over to the studio, we had Penney de Jager. Hilarious!

Dancing On High Heels

Many women can learn a lesson or two from these 3 guys ... dancing on high heels! Yanis Marshall 'Spice Girls'. If you can't dance on high heels, you can't walk on high heels ... don't wear high heels. If you do, you look like a farmer walking behind a wheelbarrow.

A Tribute To Stanley Kubrick

Monolith - A Tribute To Stanley Kubrick by Shaun Pitz.

"There are a handful of directors and films that I simply cannot imagine our world without. Looking at the top of each list, one name is especially prevalent; Stanley Kubrick. A world without his genius? A world that never saw 2001? Kubrick would turn 85 this month, this short is a small tribute to the sense of mystery and exploration that he instilled in me as a child, and continues to grow to this day. Happy Birthday Mr. Kubrick, thank you so much."

Mirror City

Mirror City - Directed, Filmed & Edited by Michael Shainblum. Mesmerizing!

"When I first started Mirror City, I wanted to create a video that was completely out of the norm. I wanted to showcase something unique and artistic, which takes Timelapse photography into a more abstract direction. Mirror City is a visual story through some of the great American cities: Chicago, San Francisco, San Diego, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. These clips were all processed from their original form, into the kaleidoscopic visuals that you see in this video."
