Flying Lotus - Kuso

And now I'm curious. People walked away watching this movie at Sundance. Unfortunately there's still now release date available. Fortunately we have the trailer

Alphacrete - Concrete Neon Light

I love these. I'm still busy creating a home from my house. They would look good on my wall and I love concrete. Now I have to think of a word. You can buy them here.

KitKat Sake & KitKat Sushi

This is one of the reasons I would like to go to Japan.

When the go for it they go for it. Also with KitKat. Why? Time Out Tokyo has a theory:

"It could have something to do with the fact that it's seen as a good luck charm, because 'Kit-Kat' sounds similar to 'kitto katsu', which means 'you will surely win'."

The latest KitKat novelties are

Sake:
A KitKat flavored sake

KitKat sushi set:
Early February in specialized shops in Ginza, Tokyo

‘Midnight Runner’ motorcycle

Sometimes I don't understand myself. I like this bike. Why? I don't know. There's something clumsy about it. The color, the front lights. I can see myself driving this contraption in Amsterdam. Back to the '80s.

It's a custom electric-powered italian café racer by the apache customs +  energica motor company.

First Mr Rogers and now Philip Glass for Sesame Street

Geometry for circles, a classic animation for Sesame Street with a musical score by Philip Glass (1979). How could I have missed this????!!!!!!

And now I'm sad

On Cool Material there's a post of the saddest songs ever - "9 songs that will rip your heart out". Here's my pick of these 9 songs:

With my absolute favorite ofcourse ... Radiohead

The Antlers with 'Kettering' ... beautiful!

I've liked this song from the beginning 'Mad World' by Gary Jules:

And last but not least, a bit tacky I know ... Eric Clapton 'Tears in heaven'

Ofcourse these are just my favorites from this post, there are much more, perhaps I have to create a playlist on Spotify.

Mr Rogers introduces the musical suitcase

Wonderful. Mr Rogers introduces kids to electronic music in 1968. With Bruce Haack and Miss Nelson. The good old times. Perhaps it's an idea to invite Afrojack for a childrens program.

Disturbing Americana family photo's

Weronika Gęsicka erases vintage family photo's and creates a new history. She uses photo's from an image bank and wonders if the people depicted are real people or actors. Disturbing in a good way.

The Classic Spacelander

A wall of sound by Rockin'1000

The biggest rock band on earth: Rockin'1000. Watch and definitely hear them play Nirvana's 'Smells like teen spirit' in Italy.

Alo ... a concept smartphone of the future

Alo ... Alo ... the smartphone of the future designed by Philippe Starck and Jerome Olivet together with Thomson. Voice activated and fits in the palm of your hand.
Only voice activated? I don't like screaming against an inanimate object, although, inanimate? "The outside is what they call a "gelatinous" self-healing material that provides haptic feedback to the user, including vibrations and heat".

Am I the only one who thinks of a sex toy when looking at these images?

Spoiled fortune cookies

I had the flu. Recuperating from it I wanted to do something useful. So what did I do? Clean out my kitchen. Got everything out of the cupboards and drawers. And what did I find? A box of fortune cookies, out of date. I couldn't resist and opened a couple of them. This is my fortune:

'Your empathy enchants'
'You will experience good luck on a personal level'
'Blow off steam. Don't bottle up anger'
'Fine, you are open to new things'
'Remain patient around people with parochialism'
'It will give you many benefits when you expand your social environment'

So ... to get good luck on a personal level and because I'm open to new things and I'm empathetical I have to expand my social environment. Thus ... I have to blow off steam when around parochialic people.

Mm.

Flu Epidemic

Probably you thought I left you again. This would have been possible. But unfortunately ... for me ... the flu finally got me. After 'not feeling well' from October, under a blanket on my own on the couch with Christmas and New Years Eve, I have been in bed from last Tuesday evening. A hole in my life. Today I got out of bed, but after 3 steps I have to sit down again. WTF!!!!!

How I woke up this morning

There's a huge power outage in Amsterdam. Very weird waking up in the dark. And very lucky I also had an alarm set on my mobile phone! This was the view from my living room. The first thing that came to mind was ... Shit, now I can't drink my very necessary coffee!

Baby it's cold inside!

Any Magnum P.I. fans out there?

The ‘Magnum P.I.’ 1984 Ferrari 308 GTS Quattrovalvole is up for auction. In pristine condition. Had 2 owners and has 36.000 miles. Come on! It's a nice car if you like Ferrari.

A very nice cover by Phantogram, Radiohead's 'Weird Fishes / Arpeggi'.

CES 2017 ala David Attenborough

This is a fun way to let the people know what happens on 2017. David Attenborough-pretender James Bareham explores the greatest gadget habitat on Earth: CES 2017. Listen to him going on about drones, rollies ... ...

Quilting 2.0

Like a lot of people, I've never been into quilting. Sometimes I saw a quilt and thought ... yes, nice, nice fabrics, but that was it. I like the idea behind the quilt though, existing fabrics, emotional value.

Bare with me, check out punk-quilter Ben Venom. This is what he says about himself:

"I’m interested in juxtaposing traditional handmade crafts with extreme elements found on the fringes of society. My work can be described as opposing forces colliding at lightening speed. Imagery found in vintage tattoos, the occult, and motorcycle gangs are stitched together with recycled materials using techniques usually relegated to your Grandmothers sewing circle. Serious, yet attempting to take on a B movie Horror film style where ridiculousness becomes genius. The question remains... Can I play with madness?"

Rest assure Ben, yes you play madness like a boss!

AT&T uses pop culture for their new commercial

Mmmm, I haven't made up my mind yet. I like the idea. I don't like the choices and I don't like the execution that much. It could have been more over the top.

People who can kindly go f*** themselves

Nice idea. Are 32 pages enough?

"Facebook trolls. Horrendous drivers. The guy who stands at the register of a fast food joint and studies the menu as a crowd of people who know what combo meal they’re definitely getting stand and wait. Yeah, some people can get on our nerves. To keep track of all those grudges, there’s the People Who Can Kindly Go Fuck Themselves Notebook. Now you can keep tabs on your archenemies and evil foes, or, you know, just your grocery list."

You can buy it here for $ 9,95 (2 notebooks)

I'm a Prada girl

Not really, because I don't have Prada clothes, shoes, bags. But if I would have the money, I would be a Prada girl. Below the premonitions for the Fall / Winter 2017 Men's and Women's show. A look-and-feel Look-book.

I am curious already!

Perfectly preserved corpses

I have visited Gunther von Hagens' Body Worlds twice. Once in the Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam, years ago, and once in Rotterdam. At this moment it's in Amsterdam again. Surreal and a playground for medical students.

10 years ago Gunther von Hagens started The Plastinarium in Guben, Germany. Here, 40 different scientists are performing the art of plastination. Creepy and beautiful and intriguing at the same time.

How to succeed with brunettes

This is hilarious. These educational video's are so long with so many examples ... get real! Just use common sense. And the brunette? She just undergoes it as a pro. The bad example with a brunette, the good example with a blonde. That's the way! Who knows, perhaps Trump can publish them again.

Blondes Prefer Gentlemen (1965)

What does family taste like?

Taste the family? WTF? Serious?!

Well, at least everybody knows Los Pollos Hermanos now.

"I take one everywhere I take my penis"

Ofcourse! Dark hair, cigarette = Syphilis & Gonorrhea. Retro ads dealing with sexual education. It's a serious business but I can't stop smiling.

The person who thought of the text "I take one everywhere I take my penis" deserves a statue!
